Petipla

Giaveno, Italy

Cristina Piattino creates her works in stoneware and porcelain, primarily using the potter’s wheel and the slab-building technique, with high-temperature firings in an electric kiln. Her choice of glazes varies depending on the intended use of the objects: for stoneware, she uses feldspars, plant ashes, and unnatural colors, while for porcelain she prefers transparent and colored crystalline glazes or metal salts.

Her work is constantly focused on innovative forms, poised between geometric precision and references to the natural world. This balance gives rise to tableware, home accessories, and jewelry: pieces designed to be used, worn, and admired.
