VEVA Ceramics and Illustrations

In the illustrated series *Bambine blu*, Valeria depicts tiny female figures engaged in the gestures and activities of daily life, drawn exclusively in shades of blue and red.

The illustrations are created on paper and are then used to decorate everyday objects made of maiolica, using the “spolvero” technique. The same motifs are used to create paintings and panels using the “corda secca” technique, an ancient ceramic method characterized by thick applications of vibrant, pure glazes.
