Ancient furnaces or time machines?
“Sacred Neolithic statues, funerary trousseaus of warriors, domestic pottery buried in forgotten villages…Fragmentary artifacts that, after millennia of oblivion, rediscover light and form wrapped in the flames of mysterious furnaces brought back to life thanks to experimentation. Deriu’s creations, housed in the studio of the multifaceted Enrico Versari, restore remote atmospheres that are still relevant and stimulating today, proposing settings ranging from the distant Paleolithic to the Neolithic, from the Terramare peoples to the Etruscan, Celtic and Roman civilizations.”
Ceramic evocations between archaeological excavations and scenarios of Experimental Archaeology, in the works of Roberto Deriu.
