Working exclusively with stoneware, Michael creates each piece on the wheel, producing functional ceramics that are entirely hand-shaped.

His work is distinguished by his use of the “from the hump” technique, with a particular preference for large floor vases: majestic works of art created by assembling different sections that have been thrown separately.

In addition to mastering traditional firing in an electric kiln and the application of glazes, the artist experiments with the power of fossil fuels, employing an evocative coke-firing process to finish his larger pieces.
