Giococcio

Herculaneum, Italy

In 2002, the “Giococcio Lab” workshop was founded, where Giovanna works with clay, glazes, and paints.

Elements of the Italian maiolica tradition are transformed to give shape to ideas and concepts expressed in a colorful and playful—and at times evocative—way, through a wholly personal touch and interpretation. The result is a collection of everyday objects, decorative pieces, jewelry, and wedding favors.

The techniques she uses most often are: plastic clay and slip-cast earthenware; hand-shaping and slip-casting; and decoration with glazes and paints.
